Specialisation: The development of Europe from the perspective of the Lobkowicz family
Together with the Lobkowicz Gardens, the palace is a protected cultural heritage site of the Czech Republic and was built using plans by a renowned architect of the Czech Baroque (Giovanni Battista Alliprandi). The museum also came top in the rankings of the TripAdvisor travel portal for 2015 and 2016 in the category “Museums in Prague”. The museum offers visitors a cross-section of the history of Europe from the perspective of the Lobkowicz family. More than 20 historical halls present a selection from the collections of the Lobkowicz family of international importance. The collections include pictures, royal and family portraits, ceramics and rare items of art from the 13th to the 20th century.
The museum is part of the Prague Castle complex and you can easily reach it on foot from our hotel Kampagarden in the centre of Prague with a pleasant walk through the enchanting lanes of old Prague. Audio guides have also been prepared for visitors and the museum is open every day. More information can be found in English on the official museum website: www.lobkowicz.com
